I’ve experienced quite a few different shipping tools in my dealings with my own businesses and my clients’. I’ve recently started using one that is both easy to use and very powerful. It’s call ShipStation and it’s an online tool. It connects to about every popular shopping cart available. It will pull in your orders, group them in ways you tell it, ship using UPS, USPS, DHL and FedEx, print packing lists and notify your customers. All in a very intuitive format and it’s online. No software to install (unless you want to connect a scale, then it takes a small widget installation). I have clients that have very little computer expertise and they find ShipStation easy to use.
I use it with my Magento stores, eBay and Amazon. If you are like many store owners that ship, you have at some point done the copy/paste process to ship your orders. Copy them from one place and paste them into your shipping tool. A real PIA. It’s time-consuming, error prone and just plain frustrating as you grow. I used to use Stamps.com to pull orders but I found the interface confusing and the process, well, underwhelming. Once I tried ShipStation I never went back. Uninstalled Stamps.com and couldn’t be more happy that I did.
They’ll even give you a 30 day free trial and it doesn’t take but a few minutes to set it up and actually start using it!
If you have discounted rates with UPS or FedEx, it will use them. If you use the US Post Office, you can get discounted rates. Not just the online rates like you get at usps.com but deeper discounts on Priority Mail. It pays for itself in these discounts alone.
Check them out. I’m sure you’ll like this tool as much as I do. When you start saving time and money, let me know!
